LEAD BY EXAMPLE,
YOUR WELLBEING
Over time, supporting someone struggling with their mental health is tiring, leaving you feeling drained and worried. If you’re busy filling up their cup, who is filling yours?
That’s why we’re going to remind you that it is not your responsibility to manage this for them. In fact, watching their mental health affect their support network can deepen their struggle, compounding their shame and guilt for not being able to change how they feel or “just get back to normal”.
LOOKING AFTER YOURSELF LOOKS LIKE ...

• Asking yourself “am I supporting or carrying their pain?”
• Regular downtime from being in “problem-solving” mode
• Maintaining good boundaries by keeping up with your hobbies and things you enjoy
• Looking after your mind and body with healthy foods and exercise
• Reaching out to your own support network
